How to Enable Javascript

If you're seeing a message that your browser's javascript functionality is turned off, it's possible that you don't have javascript enabled in your browser. Below are listed browser-specific instructions on how to enable javascript.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

To enable javascript in Internet Explorer (6+):

  1. Go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
  2. In the Internet Options window, select the Security tab (at the top of the window).
  3. Under the Security tab, select the Internet Web content zone.
  4. Under Security Level for this zone:

If there is a slider bar, move the slider bar to Medium. Otherwise, if the security level is Custom:

  1. Click on the Custom Level button at the bottom of the page to open the Security Settings window.
  2. In the Security Settings window scroll down until you get to the section called Scripting (near the bottom).
  3. Under Scripting there is a category Active scripting, select the option marked Enable for this category.
  4. Click the OK button.

Mozilla Firefox

To enable javascript in Firefox:

  1. Select the Firefox option from the Firefox menu bar and then click Preferences
  2. Click the Content tab in the preferences menu
  3. Check the Enable Javascript box

Chrome

To enable javascript in Chrome (PC):

  1. Click the Tools menu
  2. Select Options
  3. Click the Under the Hood tab.
  4. Click Content settings in the Privacy section.
  5. Make sure Allow all sites to run JavaScript is selected.

To enable javascript in Chrome (Mac):

  1. Click the Tools menu
  2. Select Options
  3. Click the Under the Hood tab.
  4. Click Content settings in the Privacy section.
  5. Make sure Allow all sites to run JavaScript is selected.

Safari

To enable javascript in Safari:

  1. Go to the Safari drop-down menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click Security in the top panel.
  4. Under 'Web Content' select the option 'Enable JavaScript'
